I understand the pressures of balancing classes, work, extracurriculars, and more. Students should never feel compelled to attend a session they aren’t prepared for.
I understand that there may be many questions before the first session, whether from the student, parent, guardian, or anyone involved in the scheduling process. I want us both to start our sessions with confidence that my services will be beneficial.
No student should leave a session feeling unclear about what was covered or lacking resources for further practice. Within 24 hours of the session’s end, you can expect an email from me containing session notes, additional resources, and an invoice.
My rate stays consistent at $60. Once we start our sessions, you will never have a surprise increase, we will keep sessions to the length agreed upon, and invoices are always sent within 24 hours of our session.
Students deserve flexibility, patience, and consistent learning material. And all clients deserve consistency and communication. Thus, I stick to these foundational values for all my clients:

taking an 80% (or more) cut of amount paid by customer, leaving tutors’ income at the remaining 20% or less.
setting a minimum time for scheduling (i.e. minimum of two hour sessions, when a student might only need 15 minutes, or can’t afford two hours).
grouping students with tutors who don’t have relevant experience with the needed subject material.
overcharging for cancellation fees.
requiring usage of a specific learning platform, which can often be unreliable for either the student or tutor.
and that’s without considering different package deals, specific learning needs, time zones, invoicing, rates, etc.
My goal as a tutor is to make the process of scheduling, paying, and meeting, as painless as possible, and create an environment where students can feel comfortable talking about their needs and leave sessions feeling confident in their abilities.
Big name tutoring companies make this process even more straining by engaging in practices meant to force clients into the longest-term and highest-rate plans, like:

My sessions have helped students improve their ACT scores by 3+ points and SAT scores by 100+ points. I use real test materials and encourage timed practice outside of sessions. With me, you won’t waste time or money; I focus on quality, ensuring our sessions cover areas where my guidance is most beneficial.
I scored in the 97th percentile for ACT writing and received a prestigious scholarship. I’ve worked at two presidential centers, won several state awards for my writing and work, and graduated magna cum laude. I genuinely enjoy learning more about students through their writing and unique voice.
I’ve achieved top grades in Calculus 1 and 2, as well as in statistics. I scored 99th percentile in the ACT math section. I enjoy working with K-8 students who may not yet be comfortable with their math skills and excel at creating a supportive and enjoyable learning environment for them.
