Finding a tutor can be

stressful...

and that’s without considering different package deals, specific learning needs, time zones, invoicing, rates, etc.
My goal as a tutor is to make the process of scheduling, paying, and meeting, as painless as possible, and create an environment where students can feel comfortable talking about their needs and leave sessions feeling confident in their abilities.
Big name tutoring companies make this process even more straining by engaging in practices meant to force clients into the longest-term and highest-rate plans, like:

taking an 80% (or more) cut of amount paid by customer, leaving tutors’ income at the remaining 20% or less.

setting a minimum time for scheduling (i.e. minimum of two hour sessions, when a student might only need 15 minutes, or can’t afford two hours).

grouping students with tutors who don’t have relevant experience with the needed subject material.

overcharging for cancellation fees.

requiring usage of a specific learning platform, which can often be unreliable for either the student or tutor.
